Pathways to Ministry

Trinity has been equipping people to serve the Kingdom of God for over 100 years.

That’s nothing new. But this is new: Trinity International University is unveiling a completely innovative way of accelerating your seminary degree program after high school graduation for highly qualified students. We offer a seamless experience from college into our world-class seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS).

You can prepare for ministry at Trinity in a traditional way, with a four year bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries followed by a three-year Master of Divinity. Or, you can accelerate your pathway to ministry by choosing your courses carefully at the undergraduate level, allowing you to take the AP MDiv route, which is only two additional years after graduation from college. Or, best of all, if you qualify, earn your Master of Divinity degree just five years after graduation from high school.

MDiv with Pre-Seminary Honors Program (MDiv)

If you are a high school student with a desire to pursue seminary, we encourage you to learn more about our MDiv with Pre-Seminary Honors Program. Enroll at Trinity to complete two years of Pre-Seminary Honors work and then apply to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) for three years of graduate work. Earn your Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree just 5 years after high school graduation. This innovative program is only available at Trinity International University. You’re an honors student – do the math! Two years less in tuition dollars to earn the ministry degree of choice.

Advanced Placement Master of Divinity (BA/AP MDiv)

The AP MDiv is designed for qualified graduates of an accredited Christian college or university who desire to build upon an undergraduate ministry degree as they pursue the MDiv at TEDS.

With qualified pre-requisites, you can earn your MDiv in just two years, as well as pursue additional electives in selected areas of interest. For a comprehensive program, complete both your undergraduate and seminary degrees at TIU in 6 years.

Traditional Path (BA/MDiv)

Students who want to pursue a traditional path can enroll at Trinity College to pursue their undergraduate degree in one of over 30 majors and can choose to go on to pursue graduate studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS). The advantage of this path is you can pursue your Bachelor of Arts degree in any of TIU’s 33 majors (not just a ministry-related major) and then apply to the MDiv program, earning both degrees in 7 years.

Christian Ministries Major (BA)

You can also choose to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in 4 years with a Christian Ministries major and pursue graduate studies at a later date if you choose. We also have accessible, convenient options through the REACH Adult Undergraduate program or the online degree completion program.
