May Vang graduated with a degree in elementary education and spent several years teaching as a classroom teacher in the Milwaukee Public School district. During that time, she earned a Master's degree in Reading/Language Arts. Her PhD is in Urban Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction: emphasis on bilingual education. Vang’s dissertation was a phenomenological study examining the experience of heritage language learning. Currently, her research interest continues to be in language acquisition and teacher education. Prior to joining Trinity, Vang taught at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University.
