I grew up not far from TIU in Fox River Grove, Ill., but when I left home for undergrad I never went back. After Calvin, my wife and I lived, worked, and traveled in the British Isles and Europe for six months before returning to the States to pursue our graduate work. Our four years in Portland, Ore., established that city and that land as a second home for us. We live now in Evanston, Ill., and attend the Vineyard Church of Evanston. Our son, Milo, was born in April of 2009.
